With Memorial Day weekend just around the corner, some of us might be planning our long weekend, filling it with activities to celebrate this honorable holiday. Personally, my go-to outfits for the weekend usually meet two criteria: comfy and cute. Today I’ll be sharing some of these simple looks that you can use for inspiration when planning your own outfits. You’ll have a cute (yet comfy!) outfit for every occasion this upcoming weekend!
Outfit #1: Striped Pants with Graphic Tee
I have to admit that this outfit is one of my favorites for the long weekend. These loose striped culottes are so comfortable and are a must-have item if you prefer loose pants or don’t like wearing jeans. Paired with a simple white tee with red embroidering, this look is casual yet well-coordinated, perfect for going out with friends or even lounging around the house. I decided to dress up the look a little by adding some red sunglasses and a little white bag but wore sneakers to keep the look casual and practical.
Outfit #2: Blue and Beachy
This outfit is great because it can be easily recreated with simple staple items. All you need in order to recreate this look is a tube or tank top, mom jeans, sandals, and, most importantly, a shell necklace. The key to creating this laid-back look is in the details. The shell-necklace and blue-tinted glasses tie this outfit together and give a “beachy” vibe. Once again, this outfit is super comfortable, cute, and versatile for Memorial Day weekend!
Outfit #3: Bright and Striped
This striped top is versatile since it has so many different colors (it’s also so cute!). I paired it with black shorts in order to not be overly colorful and I also kept my accessories simple. A bag that matches one color in your patterned or striped top, like this little red one, can add another pop of color to your outfit if you decide to wear neutral bottoms. This outfit is also ideal for those of you that live in a warmer climate, just grab some shorts, a patterned top, and a matching bright bag.
Outfit #4: Classic Summer Look
This last outfit is a cute and classic look that you can easily recreate with items in your own closet! This look juxtaposes a clean feminine top with vintage jean shorts, creating a subtly girly look. The puff sleeves and ruffled texture of this top add cute and feminine details to this look while the jean shorts keep the look casual and more toned-down. I also added a tan straw bag to give this look a beachier vibe and to balance out the frilly top. Overall, this look is great for any warm weekend!
I hope you can gather some inspiration from these looks to create your own cute and casual looks for the upcoming weekend at your local Plato's Closet!

Hey girl! I don’t know about you, but I always find spring one of the hardest seasons to dress for. Sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's warm and you usually end up wearing the same go-to outfit every day. I know I can get stuck in the habit of wearing the same pair of leggings and sweatshirt almost every day sometimes, so I’m here to share 5 UNIQUE spring trends that you can try to find at your local Plato’s Closet to give your spring wardrobe a little refresh and help spice up your outfit combinations!
#1 Sandal Slides
Everyone wears slides for a reason, they are SO comfy! However, my Adidas slides aren’t the cutest when you are trying to put together a nice outfit, so why not find a pair of more formal slides for your closet? I found these adorable suede slides from Plato’s Closet for only $10! They are a perfect addition to my shoe closet for spring and will go well with almost any skirt, dress, jeans, you name it!
#2 - Anything Blush Pink
Blush pink is definitely the colour of the moment for spring right now, and I am SO here for it. Whenever I’m shopping and I see something in blush pink, I just can’t help myself. So when I found this blush pink blouse from Plato’s Closet, I couldn’t resist! It's originally from Dynamite and only $7 at Plato’s! I love how I can dress it down with sandals or I could dress the top up with a leather jacket for a dressier look!
#3 Soft Suede
As soon as I felt this shirt on the rack, I just had to get it. It is soooo incredibly soft, you have no idea! I am obsessed with this light brown tan colour, can you tell? When I found the matching slides and the suede top I knew it would make the perfect spring look! Suede is definitely trending this spring and I am so pumped to style this look!
#4 Denim with Detail
Can denim with a little extra detail ever go out of style? I don’t think so! I had to include this pair of denim in this post when I found this pair of jeans from Plato’s Closet. They were originally from Garage, in perfect condition, my size, AND only $22, I hit the jackpot! I love checking Plato’s Closet for denim because you can usually find the same brands that you would buy new at a discounted price! I’m also obsessed with the fit and stripe detail on the side of the jeans, the extra detail is perfect for spring.
I also had to include a denim skirt in this lookbook, because would it really be a spring lookbook without one? I am LOVING denim skirts for spring and you can pair them with literally anything in your closet, I swear! They are the perfect spring staple!
#5 Dainty Hoop Earrings
Have you rocked hoop earrings before? Until a week ago, I hadn’t either, but when I saw dainty hoop earrings all over my Pinterest feed, I just had to try out this trend for spring! Hoop earrings have quickly become my new favourite accessory and I love how it pulls together an outfit and adds so much detail and class! Yes, please!

If you’re anything like me, my gym clothes consisted of baggy sweats and an old school shirt from five years ago. NOT ANYMORE. Ditch the idea of not wearing something cute to the gym (trust me, when you feel cute, motivation is created). With a store like Plato’s Closet, I can find affordable gym clothes that’ll keep me stylish during my workout.
Biker shorts showed up and are showing out this season as one of the hottest trends right now. This works in a gym-goers favor because you can be stylish on your way to and from the gym. You don’t have to worry about bringing an extra pair of bottoms because they can absolutely be worked out in (I’m sure that’s what they were created for anyways ... #80s). This can easily be paired with an oversized crew neck and a pair of sneakers and you’ll really be ready to take on the fashion world outside of the gym!
This second outfit is tailored more for the girl who doesn’t like excess material getting in the way while they’re working out. Nothing will stop this gym-goer because the spandex material moves with them as they’re working out. For the bottoms, I find these leggings to be extremely versatile due to them being black, but they are also making a statement from the bold letterings down the leg. I chose to pair them with a sports bra that has an intricate back to add a little something to this grayscale outfit. Using sports bras with special designs allows you to take your outfit to the next level. This outfit is really based on all the little details.

Happy spring! It’s time to talk all things spring styles. Shorts and dresses are back, finally! And what else is back? Patterns!
From animal prints to florals, patterns are coming back full force this spring season. Try pairing patterned tops with denim or cheetah pants and a simple top. No matter what your style is, patterns are the way to go this season. Even just a simple touch of print in a belt or accessory is an easy way to add to any outfit. Believe it or not, pattern on pattern is coming back on the trending page. Whether you layer polka dots, stripes or florals, you can create a bold, eye-catching look with pattern pieces you already have in your closet.
Another spring trend is colored bottoms. Try adding colored jeans for school or pastel leggings for the gym. Your wardrobe will be perfect for warm(er) weather. The last trend for the home stretch season is oversized t-shirt dresses. This is my personal favorite trend because it’s simple and easy to throw on! I love to pair a plain or band t-shirt dress with sneakers or combat boots and run out the door ― the fewer pieces the better! You can also layer a long sleeve t-shirt or a windbreaker over the top for an effortless athletic look. Stop by your local Plato’s Closet to shop these trends for less!

Hey guys! Today we are going to have a little throwback moment together and enjoy a classic clothing haul! Clothing hauls have always been one of my favorite types of videos to watch or blog posts to read. I personally find the reasons behind people’s purchases fascinating, plus they are great for outfit inspiration or finding items you may not have considered wearing yourself.
Recently, I went to my local Plato’s Closet and was super excited to find some new items for the spring season, and I wasn’t disappointed! I’ll simply be going through the items I found and why I picked them up!
Item 1: Leopard Print Beret
I was super excited when I spotted this leopard print beret (I have a slight obsession with leopard print and berets). It’s such a unique statement piece that can easily be added to any simple outfit. Not only was the item itself amazing, but I was very pleased to find the original price tag attached (it was $36!) and then Plato’s Closet's affordable price of $10!
Item 2: Peach Camisole
I also picked up a more simple staple item which perfectly matched my beret. This bodysuit was such a stunning color and absolutely perfect for spring and summer. Recently, I was at Forever 21 where I bought this bodysuit in black, so I was super excited to pick it up in another color. Yet, this time it was only $6!
Item 3: Polka Dot Blouse
I couldn’t have dreamed of a better top for spring and summer! The light fabric and loose fit make this top a must-have for upcoming warm weather. Plus, the tie-front style is super cute and feminine (as well as very trendy!) I simply threw this on over a white tube top, accessorized with white items, and I had a fun fresh look!
Item 4: Dainty White Bag
Not going to deny that I’m a sucker for small bags, they are just so cute! But I also picked this one up for its versatility and sophisticated style. It’s the perfect accessory for any spring or summer outfit. Adding a little white bag to a classic jeans-and-graphic-tee outfit can elevate your look significantly! Or pair it with a sun-dress for a nice feminine touch.
Item 5: Snakeskin Sandals
My affinity for snakeskin pieces almost rivals my love for leopard print. So when I found these snakeskin heels for only $10, I could hardly contain my excitement! Animal prints are not only such a classic style, but they are super on-trend right now and I don’t see them going away soon. They are the perfect way to spice up a simple look!
Item 6: Sunglasses
Accessories are often overlooked but I feel that they often complete an outfit. I picked up these two pairs of sunglasses for only $10 at Plato’s Closet. There were a lot of styles to choose from, but I decided on a retro-red and a classic tortoiseshell.
Item 7: White Cardigan
This top is another must-have in your closet. The buttons up the front are a great detail that makes this top a little more interesting than a plain white top! This classic silhouette is also super versatile for all summer and spring looks!
Item 8: Pink Lace Cami
This dainty top is perfect for spring in every way; lightweight, neutral pink, and feminine. The best part was the price, only $5! I was so excited to add this to my wardrobe and style it. Lace camisoles are actually surprisingly versatile. They can be paired with mom jeans and sneakers for a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine, or simply paired with a skirt for a classic silhouette!
I hope you were inspired by these finds to go check your local Plato’s Closet! You’re bound to find some treasures of your own!
